PROCESS . ANALOG COLLAGE
Ba’s kilim-rug designs are based on the founder’s passion for analog collage making. The final outcome is a distilled version of the original collage artwork of layered abstract organic shapes, torn from paper media. Some compositions reveal unintended Greek and Egyptian minimal design inferences .. a nod, from flow, of the artist’s origins, notably seen in Blue Dots, Bird and Pyramid.
Custom-framed original collages created by Salma Barakat are usually exhibited alongside the rugs to show design transition. Signed, limited edition art prints on Hahnemühle Fine Art paper are also presented in different sizes with custom spacing.
